Planting Pine Trees

Planting pine trees on your site can offer you additional income streams, and in the coming years, carbon offsets and credits. Our silviculture expertise means we are able to help you conserve your land while getting the most forestry production value out of it.

Although some land owners will choose to plant themselves, it is often more efficient and cost-effective to hire a local forestry company. Our ability to plant a profitable and healthy pine forest is one of our core areas of expertise.

We can assist you in planting large quantities of pine trees quickly - saving you time and effort.

Planting Trees & Native Trees

Native trees are great for wildlife and help preserve our fantastic local ecology and whenua/land. They don’t require as much maintenance as exotic species and they will grow naturally throughout New Zealand - if you choose the right trees for the right location. If you’re looking to increase your property’s biodiversity and give it a fresh outlook, planting native trees is a fantastic solution.

A lot of kiwis see acres of pine being planted, but there are many other native species that grow

well in our local habitats. If you don’t know what species you should be planting, all you need to

do is ask. Whether it be Tōtara or Rimu, we will help you choose native plants that will thrive on

your land and achieve optimal growth.

Thinning to Waste

Thinning to Waste is a practice used by commercial foresters where we will remove suppressed deformed, undesired trees in an area, leaving behind only desirable trees. This allows for better growth and increases yield.

This should be done in one fell swoop rather than over several years, saving you time and money on recurring management costs

Manual Spot Release and Aerial Spray

Manual spot spraying is very effective on small planting areas, while aerial spraying is effective for a large area of land.

We’ll evaluate your property and take the relevant steps to remove specific plants that are encroaching or, worse, threatening to crowd out healthy trees. You’ll want to identify these weeds early and remove competing pasture or weeds from the vicinity of your forestry crop seedling. Taking a proactive approach early on in the life cycle of your plantings can save you time and money down the road. The key is knowing which weeds to tackle (and when) in order to get long-term results.

Preparing Bare Land For Planting Pine Trees or Native Trees

When preparing land for planting trees, it is important to consider what soil preparation works best for your property. Different tree types require varying amounts of prep work for successful growth and development. There are many variables that contribute to successful growth. Land preparation, moisture levels and sunlight requirements all play a part in growing great pine trees or native trees. We’ll make sure that your forestry block or native bush will grow efficiently and effectively.
